New York City has an overwhelming variety of stores to tempt tourists and locals alike. Most tourists visit the giant flagship stores along Fifth Avenue between 59th and 42nd Streets where they will find the latest items from some of the most popular name brands in America, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Juicy Couture, Gucci, Armani AX, and Diesel, along with Brooks Brothers, Banana Republic, and Gant. Fifth Avenue is also home to fine jewelery (Tiffany’s, Harry Winston, Cartier), department stores (Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Bendel’s, and Lord and Taylor), and the largest Apple store in New York City. Children will not want to miss F.A.O. Schwarz where they will find life-sized stuffed animals, and where their parents can try out the giant piano from the film Big. A stroll along Fifth Avenue from Central Park to the New York Public Library will bring you past a wide variety of shops to tempt your eye and your wallet!
Useful tips — the Apple Store is open 24/7. Many people go there to browse and to play with the latest Apple products; some even use the store computers to check their Facebook pages! (Just don’t forget to sign out.) Public restrooms and seating can be found in the public atrium of the Trump Tower on the corner of 56th Street. The restrooms are hidden on the lower level, but they are clean and usually are not too crowded.
